Ten years on from Trainspotting Sick Boy is back in Edinburgh after a long spell in London. Excellent writing and read

A great story of friendship, hardship and exploitation. This book is multifaceted in its exploration of poverty, history, location and porn. It's more than just a book about a group of people trying to make it in the porn industry. It's about life, a group of people, and how they get on in the good times and the bad. It's a tough one to sum up without giving away plot and spoilers. If you don't like books with regional dialect then don't buy this. If you know the writer's work though you ken how well he uses regional dialect and it never inhibited my reading experience. Great job well done and can be read as a stand-alone.

Not as good a book as either T1 or T2

Not as good a book as either T1 or T2. It is a harder read and a much more cynical main narrative from Sick boy and Nikki.Sick boy as usual has some very funny moments but I found Nikki's character quite grating, very whiny and unrealistic, she cuts quite a pathetic figure throughout but she gets a lot of pages dedicated to her. It's a pity as i found the first two books really entertaining and loved the fact that you heard lots of stories from two different points of view depending on the character telling the story. Probably needed a bit more from Renton to balance out the book a bit. The main characters are so cynical, greedy and manipulative it is hard to have any love for any of them or enjoy their story. Not a very satisfying ending either unfortunately but anyone who has read the first two books will feel obliged to finish this story.

As good a read as the first time I read it

I must admit I purchased this book again having forgotten I had read it years ago. Fully enjoyed it the 2nd time even though I have read the follow up books since. Great way to kill a week away from home
